Crowds of cheery-eyed fans poured into the Foster Pavilion Friday evening, enthusiastic to see headliner Hudson Westbrook and opener Tyce Delk.
The government’s role should be to protect the rights of all citizens, regardless of their religious or philosophical beliefs. This will let each person follow their conscience freely, whether that leads them to embrace the Christian faith, another religion or no religion at all. Enforcing religious beliefs through law undermines the freedom of conscience that is essential to our faith.
There are certainly blessings and grace to be had, but it’s silly to give credit to something intangible when you could appreciate what is right in front of you.
Receiving recognition is a great thing, but when it’s our main motivation, it becomes a huge problem.
Just because Suicide Prevention Month is ending with September doesn’t mean we stop raising awareness. It doesn’t mean we stop checking in on our loved ones and how they’re really doing and encouraging them to seek professional help if needed, no matter how put-together their life seems.
