Born from the ashes of Vine and Musical.ly, TikTok has captured the attention spans of Americans for half a decade. But despite an order from the Supreme Court that would’ve forced TikTok to sell or be banned in the United States, American users still have the ability to scroll on their ‘For You’ pages due to President Donald Trump signing an executive order on Monday that delays the ban.
“In years’ past, some of the acts are similar in a lot of ways,” Amesti said. “But this year, a lot of the show from what I have seen is widespread, featuring a lot of diversity.”
Hope for the administration and faith in Trump himself compelled thousands to stand shivering in hail, rain and snow, some even beginning to queue at 5 a.m. Across Sunday and Monday, temperatures reached the lower 30s at their highest and on Monday, temperatures dropped to 23 degrees during the day with a windchill that made it feel 10 degrees cooler. Regardless, supporters huddled up in the streets, at watch parties and — if they were lucky — in Capital One Arena to watch the ceremonies.
It matters very little if you like Hegseth’s politics or you don’t. We should all be able to recognize that a seasoned military leader with senior experience is desperately needed. Rhetoric isn’t enough. Words alone don’t win wars. Leadership qualities, knowledge of military tactics and a high level of experience do. As it stands, Hegseth hasn’t shown that he has any of these traits, and defense secretary is too important a position to roll the dice on an outside hire.
Our society forces everything from political figures and media companies into one of two political categories. It’s become an unstoppable battle that should never have begun.

Gov. Greg Abbott recently signed the legislation banning the sale of THC vapes in Texas, a move that has began to change both student usage patterns and local business operations in Waco after the Senate Bill 2024 took place on Sept. 1.
This week, Multicultural Affairs partnered up with organizations like the Hispanic Student Association (HSA), the Latin Dance Society and Better Together to host. A monthly Neighbor Nights event that highlights different cultures and creates a space for students from diverse cultural backgrounds and Christian faiths to come together.
Despite a 42-7 win over Samford Saturday, Baylor football was not quite content with the outcome of the game.
The Bears struggled in the second half, but still won their final nonconference game in unquestioned fashion. Bryson Washington ran for two touchdowns and the defense forced three interceptions in the winning effort.

Local and regional songwriters stripped it down—sharing the inspiration, heartbreak and humor behind their lyrics in an intimate setting downtown.
And just like that, recruitment week is finally over. After anticipating this week all of last semester, you may have just experienced the best week of your life or the most exhausting week of your life. Either way, I encourage you to see the spring semester as one full of new opportunities and new beginnings.
These artists and these musicians play such a major role in our lives, so why not go spend a night giving back to them by seeing them live, having a whole lot of fun in the process?
It can be easy to retreat into relaxing alone and avoiding family, but there are small and thoughtful ways to combat some hermit-like tendencies we may pick up for break. Be purposeful with your time, and be intentional with showing your family gratitude. Members of the Editorial Board have compiled their pointers on how to show love over the holiday season.

This is how we are trained as journalists, and I think when we live by these rules — and, most importantly, keep open minds and hearts — it can be a step toward a dependable and trustworthy future.

Baylor marched into Reliant Stadium hoping to claim the first Baylor bowl victory since 1992. Unfortunately the Illinois Fighting Illini had other ideas, blowing past the Bears, 38-14. It was a tough lesson, but one that will fuel the team as it heads into the offseason.
