“Minorities in Medicine is exactly what some students have been looking for in a student organization,” Klausmeyer said. “As Minorities in Medicine starts to gain momentum, we hope that underrepresented students can find a space to grow professionally and spiritually to achieve their goals, [because] one of the best ways to find inspiration is to see other people that look like you in positions of leadership.”

“The issue is that there are no healthy places,” Kotnani said. “No one will go through a drive-thru and get the healthiest options, including myself sometimes. To help mitigate, we provide recipes for these people to do at home, including ones with ingredients that you might already have.”

Philbrick also said the university is not planning on continuing Baylor Cityside in the fall of 2023, after it was used this past year to accommodate over 150 students due to lack of on-campus housing space.
Following in the footsteps of figures like Plato and Aristotle, the field of philosophy has historically been a male-dominated area of education. At Baylor alone, only three out of the 13 full-time faculty members are women.
Many Research 1 classified institutions — a prestigious designation recently achieved by Baylor — accept ASL courses as language credit for arts and sciences students, including the University of Texas, Clemson, Yale and Harvard.
“It’s not people just going on a trip for a week and just being like, ‘OK, we’re going to go and serve, and then I’m going to go back to how I live my life at Baylor,’” Hatchel said. “My prayer for myself and for our team is … we would just grow in training the gospel … and the Holy Spirit would move at Baylor even before Beach Reach.”
Now, students with living accommodations not only have access to a detailed website regarding what the accommodation process entails, but also have the opportunity to participate in roommate matching. If a student with living accommodations is registered for housing by May 1, they will be able to select a roommate in the same process every other student living on campus uses.

“Maybe students feel uncomfortable when they get one, but that is not the purpose at all,” Pittman said. “The purpose is to encourage that students to go and seek the help they need to maybe do time management a little better or get some supplemental instruction.”
“As we appreciate our campus and all of the good things that come from it, we really want to instill in our students that is such an important part of society to give back,” Lynch said.
“It’s been wonderful seeing the Lord work through students lives in that sense … revealing the opportunity that prayer presents and how you can find peace from it,” Barberena said. “You can see it working through the students as well — the way that they treat each other, the kindness and love that everybody shows for each other. You can see it in the way that we are a Chapel team.”
Charles Ramsey, director for Chapel and Campus Ministries, said this year, FM72 will take place from Mar. 19 to Mar. 22. The event will have a designated prayer schedule for each hour and the leaders of each prayer will contribute an array of different methods.
Students taking this course learn about experiences that may be foreign to them, Miner said. They can dive into the texts highlighted in the curriculum and ask questions as they are learning that can become topics of discussion afterward.

For many Americans, the debate over student loan forgiveness is a politically polarizing one. Democrats usually argue that student loan forgiveness will help relieve the financial burden on students; Republicans usually argue that it is unfair to use everyone’s tax dollars to fund the forgiveness of student loans that were willingly taken out in the first place.
Harold Dunn, a retired elementary school music teacher of 30 years, passed away in December of 2022. School of Music Dean Gary Mortenson said that Dunn inherited his family’s wealth which had been passed down for generations.
“The beauty of the Gospel is that when you speak it across cultures … it resonates,” Aughtry said. “And I think that’s what I’m trying to do in all the faith and arts chapels, is find something that resonates with the art-making process, with storytelling process.”
Chavez said for her, finding a community meant finding people similar to herself. Rager said these similarities extend far beyond backgrounds. Though Gamma Alpha Omega is Latina founded, they are not Latina exclusive. Their members are chosen based on their character, values and beliefs.

“I would posit that most people experience positive improvements in their mental health when there is a break from school or work,” Owusu-Ankomah said. “This can particularly be the case if the person is intentional about practicing positive self-care — such as engaging in mindfulness or connecting with others — throughout the break.”
