For 1,000 years, Boethius’ book — “The Consolation of Philosophy” — was the second most-read book in the world behind the Bible since his death in A.D. 524, Murray said. However, in the past few centuries, fewer and fewer people have read it, and as a result, fewer people remember who Boethius was.
“The main changes with the new form should be really helpful once they get all of the kinks worked out. The fact that parents and students can each file their own form with the Department of Education then connecting those together is really helpful,” Rounke said.
“Part of the function of the Accounting Society is just bringing in professionals whose background is in accounting and exploring how their careers went so you have a better picture of what your future might be,” Carpenter said.

This time of year often brings a spike in illness, but the inclusion of mobile clinics provide campus with quick, convenient care.
Recidivism refers to how often people reenter the justice system after their first offense. Texas reports a 21% recidivism rate as of 2022, well below the national average of 68%. Despite this, Judge Rob Swanton of the specialty courts said there is a lack of funding and a shortage of mental health providers for these individuals.

The Texas Food Truck Showdown celebrated its 10th anniversary this Saturday at Heritage Square. The festivities kicked off at 10 a.m., with 37 food trucks with offerings ranging from sweet treats to birria.
Students first learn about Dr Pepper Hour during Line Camp or orientation. However, after the first month of freshman year, students may have forgotten about the event.
Studies show between 22% and 30% of college students are at any given time in their first year of grieving the death of a family member or friend. At Baylor, with an undergraduate population of 15,191 students, that means between 3,342 and 4,557 undergraduates are currently in their initial stage of bereavement. With such a significant portion of college students wading through the trenches of grief, it is difficult to fathom how there could be such a profound lack of resources for them.
While people enjoy these delicious “Mexican” places, it is important to understand these eateries differ from authentic Mexican food. Waco has the Tex-Mex style of food, but what can’t be found here is true Hispanic bites.
The issue with the Christmas season is that it starts too early. Every year on Nov. 1, everyone moves to put away the spooky Halloween decorations and put up the “Merry Christmas” ones. Mariah Carey infests every shopping mall in America, and other Christmas songs begin to fill the airwaves. By starting the season early, we are not only oversaturating Christmastime but also neglecting an equally great holiday: Thanksgiving.
While there have been a small number of poorly advertised opportunities to learn more about Native peoples and culture, there is so much more that the university could and should be doing to educate its citizenry. Native American Heritage Month presents an excellent opportunity to provide events, displays, webpages and banners, social media items and more that would make everyone aware of the many valuable contributions made by Native Americans to this university and their vibrant culture that still exists today.
Sports journalists are constantly and unfairly criticized as being “fake journalists” when that couldn’t be farther from the truth.
