Black History Month provides a purposeful opportunity for individuals of all backgrounds and ethnicities to partner together in celebrating the impact Black history has had on each of our lives.

Pi Kappa Phi and Kappa Alpha Order (KA) have been temporarily suspended from participating in campus activities after Student Activities received allegations of potential violations of university policy. Both fraternities are now under an interim pause on all chapter activities, including All-University Sing.

“I worked at Magnolia last year too,” Gerard said. “I had two jobs because I wasn’t making enough money because of COVID-19, but I quit that job this year so I could spend more time working at Waco Hall because of how much I enjoy it.”

Apart from quick, informal conversations from Baylor faculty who walked past her protesting at Pat Neff Hall, Aledo senior Madi Snow said she has not had any response from Baylor administration regarding her change.org petition asking the school to protect those at a higher risk for COVID-19.

As student journalists, we are in place to inform respective student bodies on what is happening on campus and in the surrounding area, as well as to hold our administrations accountable. Student journalism is important, both in print and digitally. Period.

With Russian troops gathering at the Ukrainian border and the threat to create a major military conflict, President Joe Biden said at a press conference Tuesday that while Russian officials said they have pulled back, the threat of invasion remains at large.

The American Journalism Project is a philanthropy organization that has raised over $86 million for nonprofit news, backed 32 nonprofit news organizations and launched three startups, according to the organization’s website. Now, the organization is reaching out to local Waco residents to ask about their relationship with journalism and local media.
