For the Baton Rouge native, Kamden said track has become something bigger than himself, and a large part of that is his family. Even in the middle of a race when he said he’s so locked in on running that nothing else exists, he can always hear his mother and grandmother in the stands. Even when they aren’t in attendance, he hears his family yelling “come on, Skip.”

“Everyone needs writers; everyone needs people who can communicate clearly and effectively and efficiently,” Dye said. “There are seemingly endless career options for people who have writing degrees. I think that a PWR degree sets you up to really do just about anything, because you will write no matter what you do for a career.”

The last possibility is probably the worst, and that’s not saying or doing anything. Suddenly there’s a suitcase packed with what-ifs, and that kind of regret isn’t something anybody wants. It hurts more looking back and wondering what might have been if I were to say something and risk entering my name into the transfer portal if things went south.

“No matter what stage of life you’re in, it’s really important to look to your right and left, instead of being tunnel-focused on your bigger goals,” Hallbauer said. “That’s what we want for people to take away from this group, is that they have an ability and an obligation as believers to serve and love the least of these.”

“I think more Baylor students should kind of get involved,” Chambers said. “I didn’t even know that the Waco Friends of the Climate was as active in the community as they are, which is really awesome. You know, nothing is going to change unless so many people get involved.”

There’s no doubt that procrastination is not a fun feeling. So, if they know the anxiety and regret they cause themselves by putting things off, why do they do it?

Hippo Campus is criminally underrated. The band just came out with an EP, “Wasteland,” which leaves you wanting much, much more at a curt 18 minutes. “Moonshine” is perfect, full stop. It’s happy, so pretty and has a whole ecosystem of backing instrumentals that make the very first listen a beautiful surprise.

Baylor Student Government announced the winners of the 2023-2024 student election Friday night. The results included The Woodlands junior Nick Madincea as Student Body President, Aurora, Colo., junior Lily Davis as External Vice President and Trophy Club junior McKenzie Arata as the new Internal Vice President.

Tevis, who oversees faculty and student training on civil rights and Title IX policies as well as awareness and prevention, said she wanted to plan an activity that students could “take to remind themselves and remind others.” The name of the event, Strong Foundations, came from the concept that students are strong and have a strong support system, a belief displayed through the symbolism of the painted rocks.
