Baylor FitWell launched the Punch Pass on Sept. 9 as a way to draw more students into being active through fitness classes.
“People that have been climbing for years can come and be able to learn from one another,” Robb said. “Also, we have a different set of programming than what’s available currently on campus.”
“I heard someone say [that] you’ll never regret working out. I’ve tried to disprove that, but I think [it’s] true,” Oliver said.
Baylor has 35 different club sports, but one of the hardest to overlook is the rock climbing team. If you’ve entered the McLane Student Life Center, you’ve definitely seen the 53-foot freestanding climbing wall. And if you’ve been to the SLC between the hours of 8 and 10 p.m. on Monday or Wednesday, you’ve probably heard the rock climbing team jamming out to “Love Story” by Taylor Swift or seen them navigating the best way to approach a new route.
Vaping is not only leeching off of your wallet but also negatively impacting your health, whether or not you’re part of the one in five Americans who believe it isn’t. Although it’s true that vapes generally contain fewer chemicals than traditional cigarettes, that doesn’t mean that you aren’t putting yourself at risk of lung cancer, exposing yourself to formaldehyde (the chemical funeral homes use to preserve the deceased) and becoming more likely to develop heart disease.
With Baylor students settling in during the first week of class, some might be wondering what to get involved in. Intramural sports present a ripe opportunity for anyone who feels like there isn’t much going on.
Does anyone carry little towels with them everywhere you go? If you visit the SLC, get comfortable doing this.
I cannot count the numerous times I have forgotten to bring a towel to the SLC because I have never worked out at a gym where personal towels were required. Therefore, it is hard for me to remember to do this at Baylor.
This year’s Labor Day weekend is going to be much different than previous years.
Normally the campus would be practically closed this weekend, with only a select few residential restaurants open. People usually head home for the Labor Day weekend and visit friends and family.
