Men's Basketball
As the season gets underway, the Bears are beginning to find national eyes glance towards Waco in response to a prolific offense.
Baylor lost the first road game they’ve had this season in Memphis Saturday 78-71. Turnovers and a high volume of missed shots exposed the team’s early weaknesses thus far.
Michael Rataj is listed as a guard, but has shifted up the lineup to play center due to injuries. He’s been an indispensable Swiss Army knife for the shorthanded Bears, leading the team in offensive rebounds while chipping in 3.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
Women's Basketball
No. 4 seed Baylor women’s basketball suffered a Round of 32 upset on its home court for the second time in the Nicki Collen era as the fifth-seeded Ole Miss Rebels dominated on the offensive glass and forced 21 turnovers en route to a 69-63 win Sunday at the Foster Pavilion.
Looking to build on their Sweet 16 appearance a year ago, which ended in a four-point loss to the top-seeded USC Trojans, the Bears feel confident they can achieve a shot to advance to the Elite Eight again.
After a bitter loss to No. 1 TCU in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship, No. 4 seed Baylor women’s basketball walked onto the court ready for a deep NCAA Tournament run starting against No. 13 Grand Canyon in what head coach Nicki Collen called a “potentially bracket-busting game.”
Equestrian
As Baylor equestrian prepares for the conference championship, many riders look forward to what could be their final collegiate competition.

After sweeping Sunday’s doubleheader, Baylor men’s tennis looks to keep building momentum as it hits the Midwest for its first road trip of the season. The Bears will face Nebraska at 6 p.m. Friday in Lincoln and No. 4 Ohio State at noon Sunday in Columbus.
Today, Dong is a freshman sensation at Baylor, 3-0 in singles and half of the Bears’ No. 2 doubles pairing alongside Purdue transfer Kennedy Gibbs. At No. 85 in the national ITA singles rankings and No. 18 among newcomers, she’s been a revelation. But it took the counsel of a longtime friend to bring her back.
Baylor secured back-to-back wins taking down New Mexico 6-1, and Rice 6-1 in a doubleheader inside the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Facility on Sunday.
Golf
The Bears, led by freshman Silje Ohma and junior Rosie Belsham, finished tied for third on Tuesday at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.
With a full slate of spring tournaments ahead, Baylor is ready to tee-off and start 2023 the way they ended 2022: with a dominant tournament win.
