Every year, Baylor volleyball head coach Ryan McGuyre chooses a word to define the season. Some years he thinks of it months before the season, in others, it reveals itself closer to the start of play. In his 10th year leading the Bears, he’s chosen TRUST as the name of the game: Triumphant, Refuel, Unity, Steadfast and True grit.
Baylor soccer is back from its trip to Hawaii, and the Bears brought two wins back with them. Now, the green and gold are preparing to take one more when they host Texas A&M at 8 p.m. Friday night at Betty Lou Mays Field.
Since McLane Stadium opened its doors to the banks of the Brazos, Baylor football has racked up two Big 12 Championships, four bowl games and 37 victories. Exactly 10 years from the first kickoff at McLane, the Bears will add more history, hosting Tarleton State to celebrate a decade at the home of the green and gold.

The fall sports schedule is here as Baylor soccer is already underway and three other Bear sports are set to open up their seasons this weekend. The first on campus events officially get going on Friday with volleyball and soccer, while football kicks off on Saturday.

Men's Basketball
Fuentes has been to every men’s basketball home game since 1999 and often makes trips to away games as well. He can usually be spotted behind the opposing team’s bench wearing a Baylor jersey with a hat and shooting sleeve, yelling his unique form of trash talk that’s hard to dispute.
“We’re going to win the national championship,” Vital said. “I’m not saying we might. We’re going to win a national championship.”
On Baylor’s bench, one can find three-point sharpshooters, high-flying dunkers and tenacious defenders.

Tennis
Baylor men’s and women’s tennis teams earned their way to the NCAA Round of 16 following dominant 4-1 victories over No. 43 Tulsa and No. 20 Rice respectively.
Another successful season as Big 12 champions for Baylor men’s and women’s tennis resulted in four players from each team being sent to the NCAA tournament. Both teams will host the first two rounds of NCAA action from May 9-11 at Hurd Tennis Center.
Freshman Vince Schneider traveled all the way from Mannheim, Germany, to play tennis for the Bears. Schneider reached the 2012 Doubles Finals in the German Championships, won both the singles and doubles competition in the 2012 ITF Tournament, and was named to the German Junior Davis Cup Team. As a Bear, Schneider has competed in both doubles and single matches in the Big 12.

Women have been in baseball for most of the sport’s history. While they have faced obstacles for around the last 100 years, the Women’s Professional Baseball League is reminding people that women always belonged.
Waco’s former premier sporting venue hosted professional baseball teams, historic integration games and even the town’s first presidential visit. Its legacy, though tainted, tells the story of the town it called home.

Baylor’s offense was on and off in junior quarterback DJ Lagway’s return in the Bears’ 23-13 win over Colorado. The lack of consistency on offense left Baylor fans with more questions about the offense than before.
