Baylor closed nonconference play on its front foot, shutting out Abilene Christian under the lights at Betty Lou Mays Field. The victory sends the Bears into Big 12 play with confidence and an unbeaten record.
Trailing in the fourth set 15-10 while down 2-1 to No. 11 Florida, No. 20 Baylor volleyball mounted a comeback to force a fifth set. The Bears failed to complete the rally, losing 3-2 to the Gators for their second ranked loss in 2025.
The Bears showed flashes of promise at the Waco Fall Kickoff Classic before heading into a road-heavy fall slate. The season-opening tournament at the Hurd Tennis Center gave Baylor’s mix of veterans and freshmen an early test against a competitive Texas field.
