Congressman Pete Sessions and businessman Ross Perot Jr. spoke Thursday at the Baylor Club for the Waco Chamber’s State of the Nation Luncheon. Both emphasized Texas’s importance, economic growth, and a bright future.
Baylor’s chapter of Ratio Christi, a nationwide Christian apologetics organization, planned to host its keynote fall event this past Monday in Waco Hall, featuring Ratio Christi CEO Dr. Corey Miller and Dr. Frank Turek, founder of Cross Examined, another Christian apologetics group. When security costs came in higher than the group expected in the days before the event, and marketing was limited because the event was designated “expressive” under Baylor Student Activities policy, Ratio Christi postponed the event over the weekend.
Just weeks into his first semester at Baylor, Riverside, California, freshman Aidan Christopher crossed a finish line almost 5,000 miles away from campus — and threw a Sic ’em to the crowd.
One of Baylor President Linda Livingstone’s first efforts to address the university’s past exclusions came in 2017, when she invited generations of women back to campus to participate in a tradition they had once been denied: running the Baylor Line.
Living off campus doesn’t mean living without community. Baylor’s commuter students are finding ways to make staying on campus longer worth the hassle of a late-night drive home.

Baylor’s 2013 Homecoming victory over Iowa State was a showcase of the team’s explosive offense, dominant defense and championship potential. 13 years later, the 71-7 rout remains a defining moment in Bears football history.
Baylor football has consistently won on homecoming in the last 15 seasons, emerging victorious 13 times. While it helps rally the fans, it can also be a catalyst for the final stretch.

The beginning of a new semester always feels the same. Regardless of whether you’re a freshman experiencing your first time away from home, or a senior having your first last day of school, everyone is filled with excitement and anticipation. However, under all the smiles, there’s another feeling that quietly affects many students: belonging.
Social media, being the ever-changing medium, has fundamentally altered our lives and perceptions. The algorithm is always evolving and, in turn, evolving us: our identities and labels.
The biggest movie in 2026 has been “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” from Marvel Studios, which has made just over $1.2 billion since being released July 31. It’s a blueprint for success in the film industry.
Many people don’t know what GLP-1 therapies were truly designed for and how the trend surrounding them has affected those who need them most. Pharmaceutical marketing has turned a legitimate medical treatment into a lifestyle product, leaving those who rely on these drugs without access.
A lack of reading in our country reflects more than the low literacy rates, but also the lack of understanding that drives the ever-growing economic, political and educational divides and high tensions that seem inescapable.
