Dr. Bennie Ward, distinguished professor of physics since 2003, has traveled across the country and internationally to teach, research, solve problems in physics, work with the government and on the supercollider in Geneva, Switzerland.
A runoff has been declared in the election for Baylor student body president between Houston junior Pearson Brown and Frisco sophomore James Porter. According to the results posted outside of the student government office, Brown received 1,057 votes, compared to Porter who received 771 votes and Kinghorn who received 699.
Saturday marks the 30th anniversary of Steppin’ Out, and Rebecca Langford, a member of the external committee for the event, said the Baylor community will serve Waco, rain or shine.
Student Senate voted 39-12 on Thursday, to override a veto by Arlington senior Dominic Edwards, student body president, on a bill relating to changes in the Electoral Code. The veto would have restricted student government candidates and campaign workers from posting to their personal social media accounts.
As part of a nationwide effort by universities to increase the number of women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics related fields, Baylor’s School of Engineering and Computer Science received a grant to sponsor “Ladies and Legos” programs this month to attract more women to the school.
Depending on when they graduated, Baylor alumni will give you a different profile of their time in Waco. From year to year, those differences might be as small as a better football record or a few new faculty, but when you compare Baylor of the 1970s to the campus we call home today, the two schools are vastly different.

ATO hosts multiple other events throughout the year to raise money for the cause, including a pickleball tournament that happened earlier in the week. Through these events and other donation links and crowdfunding, they have raised close to $40,000 so far, and are very proud of this year’s participation.
The Family Abuse Center hosted Dancing with the Waco Stars last Thursday night. This is a yearly charity event that is used to help raise awareness and support people who are affected by domestic violence.
