In the world of Baylor Athletics, the name Alexis Brown is a familiar one. The Kennedale native has dominated Baylor track and field’s indoor season, as she won 2024 All-American Indoor honors and 2024 All-Big 12 Indoor because of her prowess in long jump. This past weekend at the Clyde Hart Invitational, which was her first outdoor meet in two years, Brown set a new program record for the long jump, as she recorded a 22-11 mark twice, and won the women’s 100-meter race.
In fall 2024, Dr. Sebastian Langdell and Dr. Ginger Hanchey — both medievalists, both Swifties — will teach “Lit (Taylor’s Version),” a course that promises to put the music of the generation’s biggest pop star into context with literary greats such as William Wordsworth, Virginia Woolf and Oscar Wilde.

“Since July 1st, Baylor’s campus has had nine positives out of 48 tests,” Stern said. “And in the last month alone, we have had seven positives out of 29 tests, which is almost a 25% positivity rate.”

Texas voters turned out in historic numbers Tuesday, delivering victories for State Rep. James Talarico and forcing a runoff between Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election. The results also kicked off the 2026 midterm cycle.
