It’s true when you hear “Cs get degrees,” but that is no excuse not to put effort into each and every class you take. Strive for excellence, but know that you probably can’t conquer every class.

Walker’s extensive involvement in student government and thorough campaign are what pushed him over the edge, and the Editorial Board is confident that if elected, Walker will follow through on his promises and serve the student body extremely well. We know that he can ‘talk the T-A-L-K,’ and we believe Baylor will benefit most by ‘Walking with Walker.’

All four candidates for external vice president are well qualified and care very deeply about the university, but Nick Madincea has earned the endorsement of The Baylor Lariat for a reason. His professionalism, entrepreneurial outlook, work ethic and drive speak for themselves and make him the right choice to be Baylor’s next external vice president.

Just because you received an A in the class doesn’t mean you get a pizza party. Just because you apply for a job position doesn’t mean you get hired. Your participation doesn’t guarantee any symbol of accomplishment — you’ve got to earn that.

We aren’t asking for a full-tuition write-off, but to provide one panel with little follow through isn’t enough.

As student journalists, we are in place to inform respective student bodies on what is happening on campus and in the surrounding area, as well as to hold our administrations accountable. Student journalism is important, both in print and digitally. Period.

Let’s talk about sex. Not just the act of having sex, but all of the surrounding elements of it, including genital health and STIs, because that applies to everyone. Far too often, people refuse to discuss the important topic of safe and healthy sex practices because the subject matter is considered taboo, especially in Christian environments like Baylor.

Eating in college is hard. Good food isn’t cheap to buy, and it isn’t quick to cook. If there are two things that most college students don’t have much of, it’s time and money.

Forget the annoying online influence of those presenting their Christmas gathering masked by the Clarendon filter, and lean into your own. If people are posting solely in order to outdo someone else or prove to their 1,346 followers they have an incredible holiday, it’s likely they aren’t as happy as you can be this season.

Although your family members might hit a nerve by bringing up a sensitive topic, remember that they are trying to put in the effort to learn more about you. Be thankful this holiday season that you have those nosy people in your life because they care about you a lot.

While the intentions behind the Campus Guardian program are good, there is one thing that would make the majority of the student body far more comfortable on campus: a program where students can request an escort home due to the uneasiness of being alone at night.

The breaks in the fall semester need some major updates, as students continually feel drained after two months of essentially no breaks. And no, the one-day fall break didn’t help.

Everyone has genitalia. So, why do we laugh or feel awkward when the anatomically correct terms are used in conversation? Stop beating around the bush and call them what they are.

It’s hard enough to juggle all of that, but giving your body the nutrients it needs to keep you moving is not the thing to let drift to the backburner. And just to be clear, caffeine isn’t an appropriate alternative for a meal. You need real food with vitamins and protein.
