NORMAN, Okla. — No. 16 Oklahoma had the Lady Bears hanging on by the skin of their teeth as Baylor saw a six-point halftime lead disappear within eight minutes. No. 42 sophomore Brittney Griner had 21 points, but the freshmen were the true stars.

No. 0 Odyssey Sims scored 37 points, tying a school record with nine 3-pointers, and No. 3 Baylor beat the Sooners 82-81 on Sunday.

Sims’ final points came on a driving layup with 8.3 seconds left, and Oklahoma’s No. 13 senior Danielle Robinson missed a layup attempt over Baylor’s 6-foot-8 center Brittney Griner at the buzzer.

Baylor (26-2, 13-1 Big 12) won for the second time since its only conference loss, at Texas Tech eight days earlier. The Bears maintained a one-game lead over Texas A&M in the league race with two games remaining.

Robinson and No. 3 freshman Aaryn Ellenberg each scored 25 points to lead Oklahoma (19-9, 9-5). The Sooners are 0-6 this season against top-10 foes and have lost two straight games for the first time since March 2008.
