The U.S Basketball Writers Association and Associated Press both named sophomore forward Nina Davis an All-American on Tuesday. It’s Baylor’s fifth straight season to have a player named, as Davis joins Odyssey Sims (2012-14) and Brittney Griner (2011-13).

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Lady Bears won their fourth straight Big 12 title Monday night after beating the West Virginia Mountaineers 74-71. Baylor was led by freshman forward Nina Davis, the youngest player in the starting lineup, in a back-and-forth, physical title game thriller that saw nine lead changes.

The Lady Bears won their fourth straight regular season conference title after beating the Iowa State Cyclones 70-54 Tuesday night in Ames, Iowa. The title is shared with No. 7 West Virginia. It is only the Mountaineers’ second year in the Big 12 conference, and they are already sharing the title with one of the most elite college programs in women’s basketball today.

Baylor senior guard Odyssey Sims was 2013 World University Games MVP, three-time Wade Watch list candidate and participant in the USA Women’s National Team mini-camp.

The World University Games are equivalent to the Olympics for collegiate athletes and Sims had the opportunity to play for Team USA at this summer’s games in Russia.

Compared to her teammates, junior guard Odyssey Sims is small, but that doesn’t mean her game is.

Standing at 5 feet 8 inches, the All-American has led the Lady Bears to another successful season. As the top-ranked team in the nation, the Lady Bears charge into the Big 12 and NCAA tournaments. Personal accolades are also on the way for her.

The No 1. Lady Bears played with a chip on their shoulder in the Big 12 Tournament Championship game after a sloppy game against Oklahoma State on Sunday. Baylor responded in dominating fashion as they went on to win the Big 12 Championship for the third consecutive year after defeating No. 23 Iowa State 75-47.

Unfinished business has not been the motto of only the Baylor Lady Bears this season. After losing 76-70 to Texas A&M in the National Championship last year, Notre Dame claims this slogan as well.
