“I think it really is an important part of the creative ecosystem of Waco because not only are you meeting folks that are interested in film, you are meeting folks that are musicians, they’re actors,” Hunter said.

The Texas Music Cafe has been bringing live music to Waco for over 27 years. In addition to highlighting artists in the community, the Texas Music Cafe has an impressive catalogue of performances — including Willie Nelson and Lyle Lovett — that has earned it a wall of recognition from the Music Association of Central Texas.
The first-ever “Waco Block Party” is coming downtown this weekend for three days full of music, movies, podcasts and crafts. It will be free and family-friendly, taking place all day Thursday through Saturday at 500 Washington Ave.
