“We exist with one foot in the Baylor world and one foot in the larger world of academic publishing,” Jarrell said. “It is our hope to serve both spheres, bridging excellence in our industry and prestigious service to our leadership while playing a role in furthering Baylor’s missional life as an R1 institution.”

For freshmen, these auditions could allow them to be accepted into the Baylor School of Music. This would then grant them the ability to pursue a music major, which, according to admissions and recruiting coordinator Callan Chappell, isn’t necessarily a requirement for musicians to pursue their passion at Baylor.

“The Student Emergency Fund is not meant to be used as an additional scholarship application for when students are seeking more overall financial aid,” Miller said. “However, when those emergency moments happen that need to be covered, the Student Emergency Fund may be a viable resource.”

“The main changes with the new form should be really helpful once they get all of the kinks worked out. The fact that parents and students can each file their own form with the Department of Education then connecting those together is really helpful,” Rounke said.

Tuition is rising, but donations are flowing in.

Baylor received a $7 million gift from the estate of Baylor alumnus Richard Goode. The gift will benefit the Richard and Liesel Goode Endowed Academic Scholarship Fund.
