Student researchers in the Carter Lab are working to understand one of the world’s most persistent public health challenges — malaria — through the study of invasive mosquito species and their evolving resistance to control methods.

Baylor professors Dr. Benjamin Rose and Dr. Peter James both work with NASA and conduct research for upcoming projects, including the Roman Space Telescope and SPARX lunar mission.
“The thing I’m most looking forward to is the ability to really embrace the totality of who I am, as well as the totality of who the students are,” Young said.
“We think that as a Christian research university, Baylor needs to have a presence in esports — particularly how large the community is — and it’s growing,” Cook said. “We’ve learned that parents have a lot of questions about it, so we believe we have a role in coming alongside them and exploring esports with them.”
“I think we’ve really leaned into some of those things that have always been important to Baylor and we’re really seeing it pay off in the number of applications that we’re getting and… the quality of students that are coming to Baylor,” President Linda Livingstone said.
Dr. Karynecia Conner, GSA’s diversity chair, said she organized the gala with the intention to shine a light on what Baylor is able to do for diversity in its research. In her speech, she said researchers should seek research topics as a means of ministry.
Many Research 1 classified institutions — a prestigious designation recently achieved by Baylor — accept ASL courses as language credit for arts and sciences students, including the University of Texas, Clemson, Yale and Harvard.
