With nearly 120 years of combined experience in Penland Dining Hall, Elaine Battle, Linda Benson and Donna Majors have served thousands — maybe even millions — of meals to the Baylor community. But the three are known for far more than flipping omelets or making pizzas. Their careers are marked by countless relationships and acts of service that go beyond the women’s job descriptions.

All-University Thanksgiving took on a unique feel this year, due to a rainy forecast that prompted a last-minute move indoors. Though the student, faculty and staff body were divided in person, students still expressed feeling united in spirit throughout the event on Wednesday night.

Late Night is only available from 8 p.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday at the Penland Crossroads. I think expanding Late Night should be a high priority for the university.

To me, one of the best sides on Earth is a slice of bread. Not just any bread, but a crispy slice of Italian restaurant bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic glaze. It’s the perfect compliment to most dishes, but especially a good, comforting pasta.

Penland Crossroads is wonderful. It feels too big though. What’s the other side of the room, opposite to the dessert station even being used for? Some people tell me the bathrooms are over there, but I don’t really know because I’ve never had time to check. Why would I go to where the dessert station is not?
