Williams said Latina women are not a large population on campus, but they bring a lot of positivity and energy. She said this month shines a light on all women, including Latina women, and having fundraisers and events helps to give back to those who have been overlooked in the past.

With Hispanic Heritage Month approaching, the Department of Multicultural Affairs assists students in learning more about the many cultures represented on Baylor’s campus while providing a space for productive dialogue.
On Tuesday Kappa Delta Chi — a Baylor sorority that represents the Latina community — had a carnation flower sale to celebrate Valentine’s Day and raise money to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the Baylor chapter’s philanthropy.
To kickoff its Solidarity Month, Sigma Iota Alpha along with Kappa Delta Chi and Gamma Alpha Omega held a forum in order to educate women on proper care for themselves.
The event was put on in conjunction with the department of multicultural affairs as a part of Women’s History Month, a month that is dedicated to highlighting the contributions women have made in society over the years.
Students of all cultural backgrounds are invited to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month through a new series of events presented by the Multicultural Affairs Department.
The Bill Daniel Student Center Den came alive Wednesday with the activity and enthusiasm of the racial and culturally diverse members of Multicultural Greek Council organizations at their annual Meet the Greeks event. Representatives from each of the member organizations manned booths and presented brief performances showcasing the character of their organization.
