The rising artist, who is a CMA New Artist of the Year nominee, has won the hearts of millions with his smooth vocals and his small-town storytelling and since earned millions of streams across music platforms. This concert will be Wetmore’s first time headlining for an arena.

“Y’all [have] more years ahead of you than the rest of us do, and so I want students to take control,” Henry said. “You have a voice, and I want students to use it.”

Complete with food, festivities and fun, the African Student Association will host The Wedding at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Mark and Paula Hurd Welcome Center. The event will resemble an African wedding, bringing two cultures together through a mock reception complete with a bride, a groom and a wedding party.

With the exception of a proposition to increase the mandatory retirement age for state judges, Texans passed all proposed constitutional amendments on the ballot into law Tuesday. According to McLennan County elections administrator Jared Goldsmith, 538 people voted at the Mark and Paula Hurd Welcome Center, which was a newly appointed voting site on Election Day.

Pi Beta Phi partnered with Baylor for Howdy at the Hurd Friday, allowing students to enjoy food trucks, a live concert from country star Bailey Zimmerman and more while marveling at the now-officially opened Mark and Paula Hurd Welcome Center.

Pi Beta Phi and Baylor are hosting Howdy at the Hurd at 7 p.m. on Friday. The event, which is free for students but requires tickets, will include line dancing, food trucks and a Bailey Zimmerman concert.

The Welcome Center’s main purpose, aside from serving as an introduction to the university for prospective students, will be a new headquarters for the undergraduate admissions department, which is currently housed in the Wiethorn Undergraduate Admissions Center.
