On Dec. 10 at the Martin Museum of Art, a new exhibition titled “400 Degreez: The Act of Making Nothing Out of Something” will open featuring artist Vitus Shell. The exhibition will include work from his “Gold Everything” series and will also serve as a guided tour for CAE credit.

For over a decade now, Tyler Gregory Okonma, better known as Tyler, the Creator, has been, well.. creating. “CHROMAKOPIA” is the latest of his creations, and my — is it a monumental one for the world of music. Tyler covers several themes in this series of songs ranging from the curse of fame to self-discovery. He tackles topics of his past not yet sung, making for an enlightening listening experience.

Beyond the big names, 2024 is a great year for smaller, lesser-known artists beginning their touring journeys. Students commented on the tours and shows they are looking forward to the most in this upcoming year.

So, it sounds like Khalid might be making a surprising comeback this summer with “Be The One.” Although he’s just a feature, he really makes this song what it is. When I hear the track, I’m ready to get home for the summer, hit some trails and soak up the sunshine.

For Don Toliver’s sixth studio album, he calls in a whole lot of friends. Varied voices from all over the musical map make an impact on an otherwise lackluster album, with very little below the surface. However, a few songs do survive the muddled mess and rise to the occasion of a contender for song of the summer.
