“If we keep calling women mothers, then we make women only valuable in one way,” Alford said. “And not every woman will be a mother, wants to be a mother or is a mother for her whole life, but you know what you are your whole life? A daughter.”
While looking back on all my involvements, I can confidently say that I have no regrets participating in my weird mix of activities. I hope my fellow Bears can also say they have no regrets — not because they are limiting themselves but because they are experiencing as many things as possible.
Stop being the Grinch of the 254. Recognize that it’s not the city’s job to give you jaw-dropping entertainment at every hour and that it’s your job to seek out activities. In the quiet moments in between, appreciate the calm pace of life. There will probably be a day when that is all you wish for.
Our time on campus is finite, and I believe that by visiting and appreciating our museums, we can thoroughly enrich our experiences at Baylor on a personal level.
