The Bears used strong at-bats in the second, third and fourth innings to run-rule the University of Maryland, 15-2, Sunday afternoon in the championship game of the Baylor Invitational at Getterman Stadium.
The Bears won a pair of conference titles as well as 19 Big-12 honors.
For the first time in program history, Baylor Baseball headed to Durham, N.C., to battle it out with Duke University. However, the Bears were in for a rude awakening as they were swept and outscored 52-7 over the course of just three games.
The Bears defeated the Lady Raiders despite a third quarter in which they did not make a single field goal Saturday evening in the Ferrell Center.
Coming off back-to-back road losses, the Bears bounced back and ran all over No. 8 University of Texas, 81-72 Saturday afternoon in the Ferrell Center.
No. 9 Baylor looks to build on its home win streak as it welcomes No. 8 University of Texas.
The Bears will continue their homestand with the Baylor Invitational, starting at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Getterman Stadium.

Women's Basketball
Despite the loss on Monday, the Lady Bears can win out, including a win over Texas, and claim at least a share of the 2017 Big 12 regular season championship.
The Big 12 championship now runs through Austin, as the Longhorns snapped Baylor’s 21-game winning streak, 85-79 Monday night at the Ferrell Center.
The Baylor Lady Bears kept rolling Wednesday night when they pulled away in the second half, en route to an 83-52 win over Iowa State.

A frigid blast of winter weather chilled Central Texas, forcing the seventh-ranked Baylor men’s tennis team to move the match to Lion Tennis Center in Ennis last Thursday.
Baylor women’s tennis will face Houston at 3:30 p.m. today in the Baylor Tennis Center.
The Baylor men and women’s tennis teams started off the spring season with strong showings in each of their respective tournaments. The men placed the tandem of sophomore Roberto Maytin and senior John Peers in the finals of the main draw at the Sherwood Collegiate Cup on Monday in Thousand Oaks, Calif. For the women, junior Diana Nakic reached the title match Sunday at National Collegiate Tennis Classic in La Quinta, Calif.
