“You share the stoke together,” Balzora said. “The stoke is like the excitement … That’s how I came up with the name for the club. I wanted people to be excited about it and try something new and do it together.”

After claiming a victory over Texas A&M University in a penalty shootout on Oct. 30, Baylor women’s club soccer clinched a spot in the 2022 NIRSA National Soccer Championship, which is scheduled from Thursday to Saturday in Round Rock. This is the squad’s second straight year competing in nationals, but the journeys to the postseason in 2021 and 2022 could not have been more different.

“My biggest concern going forward is that the gospels are no longer the most important thing,” Hardage said. “I try not to get emotional about it. There are so many other agendas out there. We have allowed it to no longer be the most important thing.”

Rechartered in 1997, the Asian Student Association (ASA) continues to bridge the gap between the Asian community and the rest of the student body. Through social and cultural events like AsianFest and Lunar New Year, ASA hopes not only to bring different Asian subcultures together but also to unite the Baylor community.

I am a girl’s girl — and not because of the statistics I’m about to show you. My friend groups have always consisted of mainly women, and my best friends are smart, strong, beautiful women. I’m proud of that.
