SGAF funding can be used for all types of campus groups, ranging from Greek organizations to cultural clubs and anything in between. The SGAF has provided funding for events like Pi Beta Phi’s “Howdy,” fraternity car washes, and even a luau. El Paso senior and Student Senate Finance Chair Aron Basurto said that Student Government prides itself on the diversity of the events it has funded.
According to career guidance firm Pathrise, it now takes an average of 294 job applications to land a position. That’s a 0.3% acceptance rate, which is 10 times more competitive than Harvard. Compared to Baylor — which just reported an all-time low 38% acceptance rate — it’s over 100 times harder.
In the second episode of Baylor’s Bearly Presidential Podcast, Aurora, Colo., senior, Student Body President and newly minted podcast host Lily Davis sat down with the redshirt junior and Mississippi State transfer. The conversation began with a discussion of a historic 37-34 win against TCU, moved into life as a student and as a Christian and finally found its way to an array of bizarre personal stories.

Childers spent 26 years working in government law enforcement, 18 of which were with the US Secret Service. After eight years as a US Marshal, Childers took up various roles in the Service. Aurora, Colo., senior and Student Body President Lily Davis said that one thing she hopes to implement is a game day participation incentive modeled after one created by the University of Cincinnati which could see students winning prizes for attending games.
Starting next spring, the introduction to finance class will be held outside of the business school’s campus. Instead, it will be taught in Bennett Auditorium in the Draper Academic Building. For Davis, it wasn’t just the on-field performances that made football games so grim last season. A lot of students find it hard to embrace the game day atmosphere whether the Bears win or lose, Davis said. For unaffiliated students, the experience can be lacking.

Student government, despite its name, is not best defined as a governing body. According to primary staff advisor Tanner Vickers, it’s really an “advocacy group that acts on behalf of the undergraduate student body.”
Among these unfinished projects are missing baseboards, furniture and glass panes for interior buildings. Some individual dorms are lacking window blinds, with others missing the window trim entirely. The elevators are still floored with plywood and missing ceiling tiles. Numerous students have also reported air conditioning and electrical issues.
Katy senior Brenna Colihan made an Instagram post on April 24 that included a four-page essay on her frustration at the relocation. She also posted the results of an anonymous survey of over 100 people in the Baylor community, which showed negative sentiments toward the decision among the respondents.
Students with a cybersecurity major will select one of four concentrations in order to develop talents beyond their computer and technical skills. Each concentration will require six courses, many of which are outside the department of computer science.
