In December, the Waco ISD human resources department received two complaints regarding hostility in Boatman’s work environment and negative interactions with several co-workers. The allegations are not of a criminal nature, but human resources is looking into the complaints, Waco ISD spokesperson Kyle DeBeer said. Boatman was on administrative leave with pay on Jan. 19. The alleged victim told police she was robbed by an armed man after she had parked her car, according to a Baylor University statement. Walt Disney Imagineering executive and Disney Legend Marty Sklar created the competition in 1991 to develop students in creative careers for potential employment with Imagineering in the future. The prompt for the challenge changes ever year, and this year teams were instructed to bring an abandoned town back to life through design. Adler, 37, teaches fourth grade at Cedar Ridge Elementary School. He began teaching at Cedar Ridge in April 2017. Adler was taken into police custody while the Texas Attorney General’s Office issued and preformed a search warrant at Adler’s home in Woodway. This is not Adler’s first offense. Sgt. J.D. Dr. Marshall Edwards, retired pastor of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, was a longtime friend of Lanning’s. Edwards said Lanning was particularly satisfied with his family’s involvement in not only the town, but also in the church. “Wilton was a thorough-going optimist, a man of practical, transforming faith, who was proud of his family’s legacy in Waco,” Edwards said.
