No. 10 junior quarterback Robert Griffin III catches a snap in the second quarter of the Nov. 5 home win over Missouri, 42-39. Griffin's 470 total yards in the game broke the school record he already held. Griffin would again raise the bar to beat then-No. 5 Oklahoma, totaling 551 total offensive yards; RG3 currently holds Baylor's top four spots for total offensive yards in a single game.

    Time: 6 p.m. CDT Saturday
Location: Cowboys Stadium, Arlington (purchase tickets)
    Television: FSN (see national listings)
Radio: ESPN Central Texas (see national listings)
Line: Baylor favored by 12 1/2 points
Series Record: Texas Tech leads, 23-14-1
Gameday Central: Baylor • Texas Tech

    What’s at Stake

Baylor, coming off a 45-38 victory over then-No. 5 Oklahoma, can reach eight wins for the first time since 1991 with a victory over the Red Raiders, and get to five Big 12 Conference wins for the first time.

Texas Tech, which has lost four in a row since its 41-38 victory at Oklahoma, goes into its regular season finale having to win to be bowl eligible for the 19th season in a row. The only schools with longer active streaks are Florida State, Florida and Ohio State.

Key Matchup: Griffin-Ganaway vs. Tech’s run defense

No. 10 junior quarterback Robert Griffin III has thrown for 3,572 yards and 33 touchdowns, he is also quite a runner. Griffin is the national leader in total offense (412 yards per game) and No. 24 senior running back Terrance Ganaway is often overlooked despite being fourth in the Big 12 with 95 yards rushing per game.

The Red Raiders are second in the Big 12 in pass defense, allowing 224 yards per game, but part of that is because opponents are gaining an average of 250 yards rushing — the worst in the league.

    Players to Watch

Griffin boosted his Heisman Trophy candidacy with 551 total yards against Oklahoma, including the game-winning touchdown pass with eight seconds left. RG3 has thrown 10 touchdowns with only one interception in the Bears’ three-game winning streak, throwing for 1,197 yards and running for another 228 in that span.

No. 7 junior quarterback Seth Doege has had eight 300-yard passing games and has given Tech a 3,000-yard passer for the ninth consecutive season. Doege has spread the ball around; the Red Raiders have three receivers with at least 40 catches and four touchdowns, with seven players with at least 22 catches.

    Facts & Figures

    • The Red Raiders have won all 15 games in the series against Baylor in the Big 12 era. The last three games have each been decided by seven points.
    • Texas Tech hasn’t lost five games in a row since 1993.
    • Baylor has never had more than one receiver with at least 800 yards receiving, but is close to having three this season. Kendall Wright has 1,281 yards, followed by Teven Reese (791) and Terrance Williams (757) with two games left in regular season.
    • Baylor’s 27 punts this season are the fewest in the nation.
