    FRIDAY

    Baylor Late Night hosted by Student Activities | 9-11:45 p.m. (8-9 p.m. early access for sophomores) | Aug. 27 | McLane Student Life Center, Russell Gymnasium, Fountain Mall, Moody Memorial Library and the Bill Daniel Student Center | Free | Students have an opportunity to meet with over 225 organizations and their student leaders. Students are able to explore activities around five different campus locations and there will be free food, games, prizes and more.

    Monte Montgomery at Backyard | 8:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:00 p.m.) | Aug. 27 | Backyard Bar, Stage and Grill; 511 S. Eighth St. | $20 online, $25 at the door. There is a $10 minor surcharge at the door. | Singer-songwriter Monte Montgomery, named “Top 50 All-Time Greatest Guitar Players” by Guitar Player magazine, will perform some songs from his latest CD, “A Call to Arms,” which is now available online.

    SATURDAY

    Celebrate Fabled’s Second Birthday! | 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.| Aug. 26-29 | Fabled Bookshop and Cafe; 215 S. Fourth St. | Free | Join Fabled in celebrating its second anniversary with story times on Saturday from guest readers: John Morris (voice of the Baylor Bears) at 10:30 a.m., Dillon Meek (mayor of Waco) at 11:30 a.m. and Stephanie Korteweg (Waco ISD school board member and founder of STARS mentorship program) at 1:30 p.m. The festivities will also include a scavenger hunt through downtown Waco with fun surprises and sweet treats from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be free popsicles from Helados la Azteca on Sunday while supplies last.

    Waco Downtown Farmers Market | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Aug. 28 | McLennan County Courthouse Parking Lot; 500 Washington Ave. | Free | The market hosts an assortment of local vendors that provide products such as produce, meats and greenery.

    Rock the Runway Fashion Show | 2-5 p.m. | Aug. 28 | Dewey Park Recreation Center; 925 N. Ninth St. | $20 presale | Either walk the runway or come to support this benefit show at the Dewey Park Recreation Center. If you bring a wrapped toy you will be entered into a raffle to win a 45-inch TV or a $25, $50 or $75 gift card. Toys will be donated to Matthew’s Angels of Love (Children’s Cancer Center) and proceeds will benefit victims of domestic violence.

    End of Summer Jam at Brotherwell Brewing | 7 p.m. | Aug. 28 | Brotherwell Brewing; 400 E. Bridge St. | $8 presale, $10 at the door | Celebrate the end of summer with local live music from DJ Matt at Home and end the night with a dance party.

    SUNDAY

    Eastside Market Second Anniversary (Rescheduled) | Noon to 5 p.m. | Aug. 29 | Brotherwell Brewing; 400 E. Bridge St. | Free | Food trucks, vintage clothing, vendors, art and more will be at this market.

    Open Mic Night at Lakeside Bar | 6 p.m. | Aug. 29 | Lakeside Bar and Live Music; 6605 Airport Road | Free | Come out and show out at this open mic night with food, drinks and lots of fun.
