From residing in Belo Horizonte, Brazil to living in Waco, Texas, Aline De Lima’s love for soccer has only grown stronger.

“I think God gave me the true gift of playing soccer,” Lima said. “I love soccer. Soccer is my whole life.”

With the support and equal love for soccer from her family, Aline has been refining her skills since she was seven years old.

“The first thing that has pushed me to keep going is my family because they love soccer too,” Lima said. “God gave me this beautiful gift to play soccer and I’d like to keep playing.”

The Baylor Soccer team is currently 4-0 as they go into today’s game against Rice University.

“We have started out really goof and are expecting to play like all games competitive,” Lima said. “Just playing the game is the thing we most like to do and that is what we will do tomorrow.”

The season is just beginning for the team and Big XII games are just around the corner.

“One of the teams we are excited to play against is West Virginia because they beat us in the past,” Lima said. “But we are ready to take them on once more on our home field.”

What’s next for the senior integrated studies major?

“I would love to continue my soccer career either here in Texas, the United States or back home in Brazil. I am planning on being a coach when I retire from soccer,” Lima said.

If you’d like to see Lima in action here in Waco, then be sure to attend the next home game against UTSA at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 1st.
