TCU has accepted the Big 12 Conference’s invitation to become the 10th member of the conference. The announcement came at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the school’s campus in Fort Worth.

The Horned Frogs will replace Texas A&M, who accepted an invitation to join the SEC earlier this year.

TCU will have to pay a $5 million exit fee to leave the Big East, which it originally agreed to join July 2012, and will be able to enter the Big 12 for the 2012-13 athletic year.
