After weeks and even months of choreographing, practicing and dancing ‘til they drop, the performers of Pigskin had their moment of glory tonight. After the homecoming court was announced and the curtain was dropped, it was showtime.

The story follows Sweeney Todd — a man with a seriously unfortunate past who murders any and everyone via slitting their throats in his barbershop. Somehow the plot only gets crazier from there according to Keller senior Logan Allen, who plays the titular role of Sweeney Todd.
“How can I understand where they’re coming from, and that it’s not good or bad, it’s just that we’re created differently?” Weber said.
While looking back on all my involvements, I can confidently say that I have no regrets participating in my weird mix of activities. I hope my fellow Bears can also say they have no regrets — not because they are limiting themselves but because they are experiencing as many things as possible.
After the recent release of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” on Disney+, kids and adults alike have returned to Camp Half-Blood and reentered their “demigod” phase. The excitement has even reached central Texas, with Waco Civic Theater’s production of “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical” telling the classic story with a fun, musical twist.
Aside from all these whimsical elements, much of the time spent in rehearsals has focused on the dance, silk, and floor gymnastics involved in the production. Pounders said that time is of the element when it comes to preparing a show with as many moving parts as this.
“Amélie” is a musical based on the 2001 French-language film of the same name. I had the pleasure of seeing the last performance of McLennan Community College Theater’s production of “Hairspray” on Sunday afternoon in the Ball Performing Arts Center on the MCC campus.
The play was directed by MCC theater director and choreographer Jerry MacLauchlin.
It is no secret that this play is probably one of the most well known since Adam Shankman remade the film, which came out in 2007. “Hairspray,” set in 1962 Baltimore, Md., is about a plump girl (Tracy Turnblad) who makes it on to a local dance show and becomes an instant celebrity. She soon makes it her mission to integrate the show and win the show’s pageant contest. The musical is a social commentary on race relations during the height of the Civil Rights Movement.
