Given the success of endowment returns over the past five years, Morehead said his office has a goal to continue to grow the endowment, so that for every billion dollars the endowment accrues, there is an additional $50 million that goes to student scholarships and programs.
In addition to cancer prevention, Baylor’s research on water and health is impacting global communities. Collaborations with organizations like the Department of Energy and the National Alliance for Water Innovation focus on solving issues such as water security and sustainable water usage. These interdisciplinary projects aim to improve local infrastructure and provide insight to address global water challenges.
“Students are clearly answering to the demand the world has in need for health professionals, and you certainly see that in the way that they gravitate towards those schools,” Brickhouse said.
The studies showed that binge drinking caused an upturn in the body’s cardiovascular response to nerve activity. This effect can pose serious health threats, particularly for high-risk groups such as those with congenital heart defects and pre-diagnosed hypertension or high blood pressure.
Quinene joined Baylor from UT Health San Antonio’s Master of Physician Assistant Studies program, where she served as the Associate Professor and Academic Coordinator since 2015. Her experience and expertise spread far and wide as a licensed physician assistant with experience in various fields, including traumatic brain injury.
