The project looks to build up the riverside between Mary and Waco Avenues by constructing parks and public spaces, building a new city hall, adding a sports entertainment district with a ballpark, creating a performing arts district and convention center and significantly improving overall walkability around the city.

The first point of Da’ Shack Farmer’s Market was to tackle food insecurity by educating Waco locals on gardening, given how advantageous it can be because of the regenerative cycle of crops.
“You talk to any vendor out there for this past weekend, and they’re going to be really happy with how that market went,” Mungello said.
Street Dog Cafe’s distinct offerings are that it’s both a coffee shop and a full bakery. It’s also pet-friendly, with an outdoor area for dogs to run around. Lastly, it’s at a notable location on Elm Avenue, close to the Brazos River.
“Remember that the risk will change your life, not just theirs,” Leigh said.
