After weeks and even months of choreographing, practicing and dancing ‘til they drop, the performers of Pigskin had their moment of glory tonight. After the homecoming court was announced and the curtain was dropped, it was showtime.

Today is the day when some of the best acts from February’s All-University Sing will return to Waco Hall for the annual Pigskin Revue. Tonight at 7 p.m. — opening night — Kappa Omega Tau, Chi Omega, Phi Kappa Chi, Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Tau Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Tau Kappa Epsilon and Sing Alliance will take to the stage.
In the last few years, there have only been a select few performances that have featured sports or fitness as the main theme. However, they have all been rather unique and interesting performances, each with their own style.
According to Baylor Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment, just because a woman registers and participates in rush week does not guarantee that she will receive a bid and be able to join a sorority.
Although the floats appear to roll down Fifth Street with ease during the homecoming parade, there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes. Over the course of months, many hours of hard work go into the construction of the floats before they are finally presented to the public on the Saturday morning of homecoming weekend.
The sorority’s overall goal for the year is to raise $200,000 to go toward their philanthropy. DHOP costed $10 for an event pass and those who paid received pancakes and their names put into a raffle to earn a gift card and other prizes. Along with these, the event included merchandise such as t-shirts and stickers that were designed by a local St. Jude’s patient.
“Greek life is so different at Baylor compared to other schools — we have spring recruitment, no houses, heavy influence of religion and specifically, Baylor vernacular and fashion trends,” Olson said.
The 62-year-long tradition of All-University Sing came to a close Saturday night, and the winners were announced following the nearly four hour show. First place was awarded to Phi Kappa Chi, second place went to Kappa Omega Tau and third place was given to Pi Beta Phi.
In support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Baylor’s Beta Tau chapter of Delta Delta Delta plans to host its second annual Delta Duck Races from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Baylor Marina.
Fright Night is canceled this year because of Phi Gamma Delta’s suspension from campus activities and a decision by Delta Delta Delta’s executive council.
Fiji started the tradition of Fright Night in 1996 and included the sorority in the event eight years ago. Fiji was suspended earlier in the semester and is unable to participate in campus activities.
Delta Delta Delta hosted a race of 1,440 ducks — rubber ducks, that is — who swam to the finish line Wednesday at the Baylor Marina to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Sorority members sold $5 tickets for a rubber duck so that on the day of the race ticket-holders could match their ticket to the winning ducks.

I looked for things like choreography, song choice, vocal talent, overall execution and story development. I gave extra considerations to acts that were particularly entertaining, or creative, and how well each act developed the story within their performance. Please keep in mind that this is all just one man’s opinion.
All-University Sing will showcase an act that has never been seen before — a collaboration with Delta Delta Delta and Alpha Tau Omega.
Sing is one of my favorite things to do with my sorority, Delta Delta Delta, and this year we were lucky enough to partner with Alpha Tao Omega fraternity. Being able to work with such a great group of guys and incorporate both performing styles is something I will remember forever.

Sing 2011 was filled with awesome sets, great themes and much improvement. We’ve made some observations on each of the acts. They aren’t meant to be rude — they’re meant to highlight the good and point out the areas that need improvement. Thanks to all the performers for their hard work.
