While most 13-year-olds are just starting to develop their sense of self, Waco artist Will Suarez was experimenting with the inner workings of his creativity and learning how to graffiti. Now, years later, he is a multi-talented artist working with notable companies like Sendero Provisions Co. and Creative Waco.

Under partly cloudy skies in Indian Spring Park, Creative Waco hosted its annual Día de los Muertos festival on Saturday. Here, festival-goers enjoyed the usual parade, food vendors, dance performances, and more, but something stood out from previous festivals — the prominent monarch butterfly theme.
Partnered with and made possible by the Levitt Amp Foundation and Creative Waco, the city will be holding the concerts at the amphitheater at Bridge Street Plaza every Saturday from April 22 to July 23 of this year. The director of marketing and communications for Creative Waco, Kennedy Sam, said that the organization’s goal in offering these free concerts is to promote more community interaction with the arts without the barrier of an admission cost.
