New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin had his panties in a bunch after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers actually decided to play football on the final play of the game.

With New York up by only seven points, the Giants were convinced that the Buccaneers would just lay down for them and let the Giants run out the clock and the Buccaneers would quietly accept defeat.

Greg Schiano, what have you done? The game was over. All the Giants were doing was making their win official, but you decided to be a sore loser.

Football is a game of possession. The Giants had the ball with a 7-point lead and five seconds to go. That means the Giants have earned the victory, barring a serious error in judgment.

No matter what you say, it is pure fact that last season’s football team was solely dependent on Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III and his ability to make plays either with his feet or his arm.

The Baylor women’s soccer team moved to 8-1-1 with a 2-1 overtime victory over the SMU Mustangs Friday night and a 5-0 victory over Houston Baptist on Sunday night.

While the Baylor football team was offensively dependent last year with Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III, this year’s team is co-dependent on offense and defense.

“When you have a team around you and it’s not all about you, you can do a lot of things,” senior quarterback Nick Florence said.

On Saturday, the Bears will take on the Sam Houston State Bearkats, but it’s been a week since Baylor defeated SMU by a score of 59-24 in their rocky season opener.

“We didn’t feel like we were completely clean against SMU and we worked on correcting things,” said head coach Art Briles.
