After a strong start to the season, No. 11 Baylor men’s tennis had a tall task in facing No. 1 University of Virginia.

The Baylor women’s tennis team won both of its first two matches as part of a doubleheader on Saturday at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center.
“Ultimately, I don’t know what the identity of the team is right now,” Scrivano said. “We’re going to find out. You don’t know until you get in the heat of the battle and you go through some adversity. I am confident that these kids will respond really well this year.”
While it’s still too early to say that the losing streak and poll slip up was a good thing, it seems to have lit a fire under the team and signs are pointing in the right direction again.
The Bears were able to get back in the win column Wednesday night following two-straight conference losses.
“We’re really going to build on the great success and tradition that we’ve had here over the last 20 years-plus, and especially over the last couple years with this group and the culture that we’ve established,” Woodson said.
