The Baylor University Board of Regents voted to approve a new Ph.D. program in entrepreneurship at its annual meeting today in Waco, effective in Fall 2016. The program will become only the seventh such doctoral program accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Dr. Jonathan Tran, an associate professor of religion, and his family came to America in 1975 at the end of the Vietnam War when he was a toddler. They left Vietnam in the midst of death and war.

Two gunmen were killed Sunday in Texas after opening fire on a security officer outside a provocative contest for cartoon depictions of Prophet Muhammad, and a bomb squad was called in to search their vehicle as a precaution, authorities said.
