Late in Saturday’s game against No. 3 Texas at the Erwin Center, Baylor needed a Herculean performance from somebody if it wanted any chance at scoring the upset. Senior LaceDarius Dunn gave the Bears just that with 22 second half points, but his team’s late comeback fell short in a 69-60 loss to the Longhorns.
Freshman Tristan Thompson had 17 points and 13 rebounds and No. 3 Texas held off a furious rally by LaceDarius Dunn and Baylor to remain undefeated in the Big 12 with a 69-60 victory Saturday.
The No. 1 team in the country seemed to get even better with another double-double outing by Brittney Griner as Baylor ended Texas’ 4-game streak while extending its own to 20 games with a 96-68 win in the Ferrell Center Saturday afternoon.
