A recent study done by a Baylor researcher suggests that young adults whose parents monitor their social interactions are less likely to have alcohol-related problems, and that young adults monitored by a parent of the opposite gender exhibit an even stronger correlation between parent interaction and less impulsivity.
Last weekend the battle between the No. 17 Baylor and No. 21 Texas A&M softball teams proved how tough conference play will be in 2011 as they split the series, both with walk-off home runs. Baylor took the first game Saturday, 2-1, in 11 innings and Texas A&M took the second, 6-5.
As the death toll of tsunami victims in Japan approaches 11,000, Baylor students are raising donations and awareness across campus. The Japanese Student Association has set up donation stations in the Baylor Sciences Building, Hankamar School of Business, and residential and dining halls.
Sunday at Baylor Ballpark handed the baseball team chilly weather and a chance to take the three game series against Kansas State.

Texas voters turned out in historic numbers Tuesday, delivering victories for State Rep. James Talarico and forcing a runoff between Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election. The results also kicked off the 2026 midterm cycle.
