I believe transparency is vital to any news outlet, and I would like to address the response to The Lariat’s poll on Dave Aranda. Additionally, explain the posting of our social media community guidelines following the response to a separate story. I stand behind and support all the decisions my staff has made over the past few weeks and want to relay that to our audience clearly.
Baylor has lost nine straight to SMU, stretching back to 2017. The Bears had previously gone undefeated in the first decade of the rivalry. With one win already at home, Baylor looks to end the fall slate remaining undefeated at home and tie the all-time record against SMU.

Zack & Jim’s 20th Anniversary Blowout will take place at 6 p.m. this Saturday at the Extraco Events Center, featuring a concert including A-list country stars Easton Corbin and Dustin Lynch. The event is free and open to everyone, and floor seats to the concert are $6.
A Waco alumnus is giving the oldest hardware and lumber store in Waco a makeover.
Accounting alumnus Larry Dagley and his wife Norma Dagley, an Alumna by Choice, bought the store last year as a venture into the retail market.

“Since July 1st, Baylor’s campus has had nine positives out of 48 tests,” Stern said. “And in the last month alone, we have had seven positives out of 29 tests, which is almost a 25% positivity rate.”
