At the “Gender, Race and Justice: The Future of American Policing” event on Thursday, a panel of experts spoke about various issues within the American policing system. Panelists also spoke about reforms to the system, including police departments taking better accountability, training police to de-escalate situations and promoting engagement between officers and the community.
“There is research that suggests increased levels of social media use can lead to self-absorption and an unhealthy attempt to uphold a perfect online image,” Dr. Christine Limbers said.
This month, Baylor’s Honors College, with the support of five collaborating universities, kicked off 100 Days of Dante — the world’s largest Dante reading group. The event was created in honor of famous Italian poet and moral philosopher Dante Alighieri, who is revered for his work, “La Commedia,” better known as “The Divine Comedy.”
Two Baylor siblings have a go-to fun fact for icebreakers: they have a pet pig.

Lilia Gonzalez, director of nurses, said Health Services would remain available to monitor potential measles outbreaks and help students. Though the Texas measles outbreak has ended, Health Services continues providing preventative measures for other potential outbreaks.
