Last Friday, President Donald Trump was sworn into office. No doubt, it was a historical day. However, the events that presided after the inauguration are what I find truly groundbreaking. According to the Women’s March on Washington website, the marches were held to “send a bold message to our new government on their first day of office, and to the world that women’s rights are human rights.” From Washington D.C., Los Angeles, New York City and even my hometown of Austin, women proved that our voices…

I absolutely love makeup. It makes me feel confident, like a total boss woman. I’ve loved it ever since I got my first eye shadow palette in the sixth grade. I remember trying to cram as many different colors of eye shadow on my lid, not even slightly caring if the color combination made sense or matched what I was wearing. They felt compelled to tell me what was wrong with my makeup if they felt I was…

I am a huge fan of technological advances since it makes my life easier; however, I don’t like how technology has changed the way we date. Modern dating is tough, complicated and requires a lot of unnecessary work that our parents and grandparents didn’t have to deal with. Think about it: The minute we meet someone new and attractive, the first thing we do is look them up on Instagram or Facebook. It’s almost become a routine…

From magazine spreads of the newest big celebrity to social media posts of fitness models, we are constantly being reminded of what society thinks is the “perfect body.” Women are expected to be shorter than boys, with symmetrical curves, long legs, and a little hourglass waist. Men are expected to be taller than women and covered in perfectly toned layers of muscle. While these body standards may be attainable for some, they are…
