On Monday the Beauchamp Addiction Recovery Center will hold Lovefeast, a potluck for all students to come and celebrate each other and themselves. Lovefeast will include food donated from several organizations on campus and will be held from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the BARC.

China Spring 21-year-old Madison Hardwick had many plans for herself. She had always wanted to be a photojournalist and travel the world, but in her high school senior anatomy class, she found an interest in the medical field. Madison then shifted her plans to the field of sonography. Ultrasounds were her idea of the “photos for the human body.” Little did she know, she’d be the patient and not the one controlling the machines.
Yesterday, an article was published about Mexican food in Waco but then proceeded to mention a handful of places well within the Baylor bubble. Articles like this continue to further the stereotype that Waco has nothing to offer Baylor students, when even a cursory Google search would have pulled up an incredible number of local Mexican places.
A recent increase in cheating has led many professors to report to Baylor’s Honor Council this semester.
The National Student Speech, Language and Hearing Association is bringing back its service project event where current members can send and receive handwritten letters to students at J.H. Hines Elementary School, clients of Friends for Life in Waco or patients at the Baylor Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic.
“Waco is a great diverse mixture of people, and through Startup Week we can really build community and bridge that gap,” Ashley Olivarez, Startup Waco community and operations associate, said. “With the right mindset you can really get a lot out of it.”
Despite the fact that it is its 10-year anniversary, many students who walk by the garden adjacent to Fountain Mall have no idea what it is. With large stone monuments, a narrow walkway and a foreboding aura surrounding the garden, some may have believed that it is a cemetery. This very reason is why the National Pan-Hellenic Council is seeking to renovate the grounds, with awareness and beautification at the forefront of these changes.
Whether you’re a picky eater, you’re a college kid who hates vegetables or you’re not comfortable with other cultures’ cuisines, I would highly suggest that you get comfortable with the uncomfortable and give Clay Pot a try. The ambiance, food and family-style seating is perfect for a get-together, date night or mother-daughter day.
Brotherwell Brewing, a local brewery, is hosting a series of trivia nights every Thursday throughout November. Trivia will cover a variety of topics and will feature several different speakers from the Waco area.
Student Government is hosting its next, and possibly last, Student Organization Town Hall at 7 p.m. on Oct. 26 in Cashion Academic Center Room C311.
Despite the lengthy runtime and the poor box-office earnings, the movie “The Last Duel” is worth the watch. Compelling performances from the actors give the film life and the unusual three-part story device provides a breath of fresh air from the multitude of cookie-cutter movie formulas currently that exist.
In the diversity assignment that all students and faculty have to complete, LGBT was not mentioned in any way, shape or form even once. This school does not care about us, and it constantly proves that.
Within a college environment, students should have the opportunity to engage and collaborate with one another in whichever way they feel best, and they should not have to be isolated within a college campus because they feel as though they have no members of their own faith to confide in.
But, the danger in the recent course forced upon students is the fact that Baylor attempts to blend the timeless truths of scripture with modern progressive doctrine — a doctrine that, in many ways, completely opposes Christianity.
I would 100% recommend stopping by The Mix if you find yourself in the mood for a casual, fresh and somewhat healthy meal.
Alpha Omega is the type of place where I could get the same meal every day of the week and still be left wanting it again and again.

Baylor continues to prove that the smallest steps in the right direction do nothing. We cannot pick and choose where masks should be mandated. Baylor has stated its goal for continuing the semester amid this pandemic: health and safety is of the utmost importance.
