The Baylor Bears cross the century mark for the first time this season as they beat the Oklahoma State Cowboys 106-65. Freshman forward Quincy Miller led the team in scoring with 21 points.

“I was feeling it,” Miller said after the game.

Sophomore forward Perry Jones III added 19 with 12 rebounds.

The Bears started the game slowly shooting just 2-11. Sophomore guard Pierre Jackson started the momentum surge with a 3-pointer and a steal with about 12:00 minutes left in the first half. With the shots starting to fall, Baylor led 46-31 going into half.

The Bears started the second half strong. Jones III started looking for his shot in the post rather than the perimeter. The team shot nearly 64 percent in the second half to secure the victory.

“It just feels good to watch your school win,” said Quincy Acy about the overall success of Baylor athletics. He finished with 15 points. “We have a lot to prove, and we’re hungry.”

Bench play was another stand-out element for the Bears. Every combination of players was able to put the ball in the basket and defend.

“That’s just the depth we have,” said Jones III. “We have a lot of confidence in each other.”

Although the Bears seemed to dominate across the board, head coach Scott Drew contained his optimism. “There is no perfect game, so there is always room for improvement,” he said.

Baylor’s next game is against 10th-ranked Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse. With 3rd-ranked North Carolina losing to Florida State by 33, the Bears can expect to be ranked 3rd in the nation when the new rankings are published.
