Hate on all levels is unacceptable, especially at an institution that leans on faith, family and friendships. Being abhorrent toward someone for doing something wrong is stooping to their level. Accountability should never turn into cruelty. As Baylor students, we need to be better. As cliché as it sounds, we need to be better Baylor Bears.

As we reflect on the impact social media has had on our 2025 minds, it is much less positive. Social media has produced an anxiety-ridden, disconnected and apathetic generation. Our minds are filled with constant noise and comparison. Every major and minor tragedy is broadcast to us in grotesque detail.
While it can be entertaining to point out flaws and have a giggle at some of the funnier moments of Sing, it’s important to try to put yourself in the shoes of a performer before you post something degrading about their act.
Daily Northwestern student journalists followed hazing allegations and uncovered claims against Northwestern head football coach all summer long. It’s been a hectic but impressive run for these part-student, part-workers, and it serves as a reminder to take all student reporters seriously.
Yik Yak is an app that consists of an anonymous chat board. It uses the GPS software in your phone and displays the posts from the 500 closest users to you. Personally, I like to describe it as the Burn Book of social media. The posts on Yik Yak can be ruthless, hilarious and everything in between.
