Once the high-cost event took off, seven student performances commenced, broken up by giveaways and raffles in between. The second half of the show was a premiere screening of “The Celebration of Everlasting Color,” a student-produced feature film written by 2025 Baylor graduate Aaron Rivera.

What began as a small project funded by a grant from the Waco Indie Film Festival in 2022 has since blossomed into an internationally celebrated work, known as “The Heart of Texas.”

In film and digital media classes like production methods II (PMII) and short film production, students are exposed to the process of making short films, preparing them for their careers at Baylor and beyond.
