Once upon a time, four artistic, eclectic and energetic roommates decided to translate their accumulated list of inside jokes and philosophies into a sonic scrapbook. Now, straight from the belly of U Pointe on Speight, the group has just released a debut nine-song album titled “808s & Roommates.”

To begin, everything Jared Leto has ever worn is a disappointment. Not only does the excessive eyeliner simply give me the creeps, but the badly-dyed ombré hairdo reminds me of every 2014 hair inspiration photo on Pinterest.
Niall Horan has been killing it recently, releasing banger after banger and bringing back simple and fun pop music. “Meltdown” has a backing chorus of singers that is almost operatic, lending a really bright sound to the song. It’s high energy and so happy, almost like the Irish member of One Direction’s answer to Harry Styles’ “As It Was.”
This works for other tasks, like cleaning or anything similarly tedious. And if you’re a complete clown like me that ends up scrolling on my phone when I’m supposed to be working, bring a STEM major friend. They don’t mess around about studying.
